Free Mulch in Los Angeles

The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation is giving away FREE mulch! It’s made from yard trimmings and is available at locations through-out the city. Bring a shovel and your own containers, or better yet load it into your truck. Take as much as you need. The mulch is part of the Free Mulch Give-Away program and is available to all L.A. Residents.

Adding mulch to your planter beds provides many benefits including:

• Retaining moisture and reducing watering requirements
• Helps to keep the weeds down therefore reducing herbicide use
• Provides nitrogen during decomposition, reducing fertilizer need
• Increases the aesthetics of the landscape

The free mulch is available at 9 locations, including:
